Herself

That's who Mary looks like in this picture~I don't see it so much, but people comment all the time that Mary looks just like me. In fact, an old friend of mine who I found on facebook saw Mary's picture, and guessed who she belonged to, because of the striking similarity. We think she looks a lot like her brothers, although, they don't necessarily look like one another. She's definitely a conglomeration of our family.

She's eating some baby carrots and wearing a shirt that Tracy bought her, in London, that says "my mummy's a yummy mummy". She wore it to the park today, and also to La Leche League tonight.

Mobile

Late yesterday, Mary truly crawled for the first time. She does this sort of stiff, lurching, plodding, crawl, up on all fours. It's really funny to watch. Now we're really in for it! We were trying to play a game of Sorry! before bed and she kept grabbing at the pawns, trying to eat them. Today we had a picnic at the property our church is buying to build on - it's really beautiful there.

I love how delicate Mary's little fingers look in this photo~

And here, grinning at her daddy~

She's A Charmer~

Mary still isn't really crawling - but she can pull herself up on things.

Just a Baby

We saw Dr. Varga on Wednesday - he was amazed (as usual) by how healthy she looked. Mary had an looong echo done - everything looked great. She still has a leaky valve, which will probably require replacement sometime in the way distant future, as well as a tiny VSD (too tiny, in fact, for the surgeons to repair when they were in there last time). Basically, he said come back in 5 months, but really, she's completely fine.

She's not someone with a congenital heart defect waiting for her open-heart surgical repair - she's, finally, just a baby, sleeping in her mama's arms at the Renaissance Faire.

Bicycle Built for Two

We took Mary on a her first bike ride tonight. She loved it! I am hoping to use the bikes a lot this fall. Tomorrow we have a follow-up appointment with Dr. Varga.

Little Old Lady

We had another park day with one of our homeschool groups. One of the girls there had a purse Mary was playing with. When I put the strap over her shoulder, she reminded me of Scott's grandma~

Storytime

I came down tonight after baths to find Sam reading to Scott and Mary.

Happy Birthday, Daddy

Mary and I took Scott for his surprise birthday dinner. She enjoyed halibut, asparagus and roasted potatoes. Yum!

There She Is!

NINO

Nine In, Nine Out. Mary was born at 39 weeks, 1 day. That's exactly how old she is today! Interestingly enough, this is also her 9 month birthday. Tomorrow she will be out longer than she was in. I miss the excitement of not knowing 'who', exactly, was coming, and the awe-inspiring feeling of life growing and moving inside me. But I am glad beyond measure that Miss Mary is here, safe and sound. She's even more amazing in person :)

Today we splashed around at the Carol Stream pool with the Humphrey's. Mary (and her big brothers) loved it. There wasn't much shade, and Mary is getting quite a tan. She's getting closer yet to truly crawling, rocking a bit on all fours. We're really going to be in for it when she takes off - we've caught her snacking on Legos more than once, already.
