Here's my smiley baby girl. She really is so happy most of the time. Although, she also seems to fuss more than either of the boys did at this age (that just means they were exceptionally happy babies). And she doesn't sleep very well/much - but you wouldn't know it from looking at this photo~

There is this picture book Sam loves called, "Yuck! A Love Story". In the beginning after describing all the great things about the main character's life, it says "His life was full." Looking at this picture, I think of that line. Mary's life is full. And such a blessing.

Shoes

Mary's been walking for a couple of months now, but we just realized she will need some hard soled shoes for outside. She's been wearing Robeez, which are great, but not water/snow proof. After 4 girls, Rhonda had quite a collection of baby shoes, and lent us several pairs to try~
At first, Mary wasn't all that thrilled, but she quickly got used to them~

Spring Fever

Mary's all better now - she even got to enjoy the sunshine today!

Sick

Mary's sick with some sort of virus today. She has a fever, and is pretty congested, and was up, unhappy, a lot, in the night.But what is most unusual, and a little worrisome, is how lethargic she is. This morning, for instance, about an hour after she woke up, I sat her on the couch with a book. When I turned to check on her, she had fallen asleep. That has never happened. We did see her pediatrician for her 15 month check up Monday. She's now 20 lbs. 1 oz., and 30-1/2" long! She also had another blood draw for her thyroid. Our new insurance doesn't cover Loyola, so I'm having the lab work done at an in-network facility, and we'll just pay the out of network fee to continue seeing her endocrinologist. I was nervous about how accommodating the phlebotomist would be - the one at Loyola always went out of her way to make these procedures as easy as possible. I explained that Mary has very small veins, and they usually just get the blood with two (simultaneous) finger sticks. She said that would be fine, but could she at least look at Mary's arm? I agreed, and she was certain she could get a vein. I told her if she was sure, she could try. But only once. Well, she did, and she got it! It still involved a lot of crying for Mary, but I would say it was the easiest draw yet. I thanked the woman profusely and she told me that before she began, she had asked God to make it easy. He did!! After I left, I made sure to call and share with her supervisor about what a good experience we had. The supervisor was shocked, and thanked me for calling. She said they usually only get complaints.
